Norman Sneeden III is the President and co-owner of Special Wood, a second-generation family business specializing in premium lumber, architectural building products, and custom millwork. Having grown up in the industry, Norman has spent his career building on the company's reputation for quality products, dependable service, and strong customer relationships.

Carter studied Forestry and Wood Products at North Carolina State University and Haywood Community Collegefrom 1995 to 1999, building a strong technical foundation in wood science, forest management, and the forest products industry. That education, combined with years of hands-on experience, has shaped his expertise in lumber, millwork, manufacturing, and building materials.

Lace-Anne is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington and brings more than 13 years of experience in the building materials industry. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong foundation in construction, customer service, and helping customers find the right solutions for their projects. She takes pride in building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues through her dedication and attention to detail.

Charlie  has been around the construction industry his entire life, growing up on his family’s job sites and developing a passion for building from an early age. Since 2013, he has built his career in the building materials industry, helping contractors and homeowners find the right products for their projects. A graduate of West Virginia University, Charlie combines industry knowledge with a customer-first approach.

With 30 years of experience in the trades, Wes Hodge brings a unique combination of craftsmanship, leadership, and hands-on expertise to his role as Director of Architectural Fabrication. His background includes serving as a Film Set Building Foreman and General Foreman, as well as extensive experience in boatbuilding and custom stair and handrail fabrication and installation. Across every project, Wes is known for his attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Director of Design and Engineering

Acting as Special Wood's Creative Director, Tyler provides 20+ years of construction experience with a uniquely diverse background in carpentry, various forms of CAD design, as well as engineering and fabrication. His multidisciplinary approach, in both design and fabrication, allows us to efficiently communicate and effectively collaborate with homeowners, builders, designers and architects, allowing us to develop and produce creations that are not only visually compelling, but technically sound. By combining his creative experience as operator of our 5-axis CNC machine, he helps us blend traditional craftsmanship with advanced technology, allowing us to deliver exceptional quality millwork to our customers.

Inventory and Logistics Coordinator

Woody has been part of the building materials industry since 2002, when he started as a delivery driver. With more than two decades of experience, he has developed extensive product knowledge and a strong commitment to outstanding customer service.

Glenn Carroll has been a valued member of the Special Wood team for over 40 years. As Yard Supervisor, he brings decades of hands-on experience, industry knowledge, and leadership to our daily operations. Glenn is dedicated to keeping our yard running safely and efficiently while ensuring customers receive the quality service and products they expect. His commitment, reliability, and deep understanding of the business have made him an integral part of the Special Wood family for more than four decades.

Danielle joined the Special Wood team in November 2025 and quickly developed a passion for helping customers and building relationships with new people. She is committed to providing a welcoming experience and exceptional service to everyone she meets. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys biking, boating, and spending time with her family. As a proud mother, her children are the center of her world and her greatest motivation every day.

Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and their pets, volunteering at a local animal shelter, restoring her classic truck, and embracing all things Halloween. She's also an exceptional cook and baker—some might even say her culinary skills are on par with Gordon Ramsay's. Her down-to-earth personality and commitment to helping others make her a valued member of our team.
